Tuesday Tip: What to sing and when I

We are pleased to welcome Peter Moger, National Worship Development Officer for the Church of England as a contributor to this blog. Peter is playing an increasing role in Visual Liturgy and we hope that his participation in the Tuesday tips will help us move beyond the nuts and bolts of the software into the reasons we are all using Visual Liturgy anyway – worship. This week, Peter presents part one of a two part series on selecting hymns:

Friday fill-in: A smarter way to select a service

Tim Anderson writes about a new feature in Visual Liturgy Live called ‘meta-templates’: The essence of Visual Liturgy is that you select a type of service, and the software populates it with the correct readings along with other material such as the proper preface in the Eucharistic Prayer, or a seasonal introduction to the peace.

Friday fill-in: Lectionary planner changes

In last week’s Friday fill-in, we showed you some of the new screenshots for key parts of Visual Liturgy. Thanks to everyone who commented on the designs and gave us plenty of food for thought. One thing we mentioned in passing was how the Lectionary Planner was changing. This week, we thought we’d show you how…

Tuesday tip: Setting items as default

The tip for this week is all about how to set an item as a default. What this means is that if you use particular versions of texts all the time, you can tell Visual Liturgy to automatically use those versions so that you don’t have to keep changing them each time you start a new service.

Friday fill-in: New re-designs take shape

The work on the new Visual Liturgy Live continues to take shape. Our development team are making good progress with plans to link the Lectionary planner into your services and a new ‘Manage my readings’ function. More about those later. However, today, we want to tell you about some re-designs of three important screens.
