When you are creating services or even working with your own templates, it can be a long and involved process to edit one of the templates provided by Visual Liturgy. One thing you can do to help is to use the ability to tile services side by side.
Open two services – one as the base service from which you want to pull information, for the second use the “Untitled” template that is available from the Welcome screen.
Once both are open, click on WINDOW in the menu bar and then TILE VERTICALLY. The two services should line up side by side. If the Welcome Screen also tiles, close it by clicking the red X icon and repeat the command to TILE VERTICALLY so that the two remaining windows fill the available space.
Once both services are side by side, you can drag and drop from your source service into the untitled window – cherry picking the material that you want to see and ignoring what you don’t need.
If you want to, you can save that cherry picked list of material as a template or as a worked out service, you can print it, or export it to a word processor or dtp software package for further work.
