Simplified registration for Visual Liturgy Live

We have introduced a new simplified registration procedure for Visual Liturgy Live. When installing Visual Liturgy on a new computer, you no longer need full address details, but only your username, password, serial number and (in the case of team subscriptions) team serial number.

If you need to manage your subscription, visit https://myaccount.hymnsam.co.uk/.

The latest update to Visual Liturgy has a simplified registration and activation form accordingly. Registering with an older version will still work, but the address and other details will be ignored.

In the case of any difficulty, please see our guidance page https://www.visualliturgylive.net/registration-assistance.

Announcing Additional Baptism Texts in Accessible Language

We are pleased to announce that the Additional Baptism Texts in Accessible Language are now available to Visual Liturgy subscribers.

You can update this by using online update, which you can find in the Edit menu in Visual Liturgy’s top bar.

These texts are supplementary to those in the existing Common Worship: Christian Initiation. They have been authorized in response to a motion by the Liverpool Diocesan Synod requesting texts in language that is more accessible to many of those who ask for baptism.

Once installed, you will find three new service templates in the Holy Baptism section in Visual Liturgy.

The template “Additional Texts for Holy Baptism in Accessible Language (as printed)” has the new texts together with the introduction and guidance notes. This is not intended as a ready to use service, but as a resource.

The templates “Baptism at Holy Communion using the Additional Texts in Accessible Language” and “Baptism using the Additional Texts in Accessible Language” are sample services that you can use as-is or adapt to your needs. Note that there are choices to be made depending on whether the candidates for baptism are able to answer for themselves.

This update also requires an update to the Visual Liturgy software, designed to improve its use for Daily Prayer and to fix some small issues. This is also available in online update.

Mothering Sunday and Daily Prayer updates

Sunday 30th March has two sets of readings and prayers available, one for the 4th Sunday in Lent and the other for Mothering Sunday. Visual Liturgy was not showing the Mothering Sunday option. We have fixed this in an update to the Calendar which you can obtain through Online Update.

This update also adds Daily Prayer readings and psalms to the end of 2014. However, an update to our Daily Prayer service templates is also needed to take full advantage, and this will be available shortly.

Finally, note that the training day previously scheduled for 8 May will now take place on 11 June.

Major update to Visual Liturgy

A major update to Visual Liturgy is now available to our current subscribers. All Scripture readings represented before by just a Bible reference are now available in full text NRSV.

We also have complete texts for Psalms in the Common Worship version. We have added the ability to use the Additional Collect, which is an authorized shorter collect for the day, by default in services. Additionally, there are many improvements to Daily Prayer, so you can easily use a Daily Office. The lectionary is updated for Daily Prayer for 2014 and Sundays to the end of 2015.

The software should automatically inform you about this update, but you can access it manually using the Edit/Online update function within VL Live.
