Tuesday Tip: How to register Visual Liturgy Live

Today’s tip is for those trying to register their copy of Visual Liturgy Live.

The best way to do this is by filling in the form in Visual Liturgy Live and registering over the internet. The form will normally pop up each time VLL is loaded if you are un-registered but you can access the registration form through the file menu in Visual Liturgy itself.

Please make sure:

  1. You are filling in your Visual Liturgy Live serial number into the allocated field. The serial number can be found on the label attached to the CD envelope in the Visual Liturgy box and always begins VL50CW… Please do not enter your serial number for Visual Liturgy 4 as this will not be successful.
  2. You are not filling in the key number field at the bottom of the screen. This will get filled in once the form has been submitted and registration has been successful.
  3. Your password meets the guidelines for security; it should contain between 6 and 12 characters including at least one upper-case character, and one number.
  4. You are registered before you try to set your team licence as you need your log in name and password to be able to log into the Visual Liturgy Live website. To find out how to upgrade to a team licence please read the previous blog entry ‘Setting up your team licences’.

I am still being told that my password is insecure, despite follwing the guidelines

When trying to update VLL, I get the following error message. Any advice?

The following package files could not be found:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Visual Liturgy 5\update\MDAC28\mdac_typ.exe

See the setup log file located at ‘C:\DOCUME~1\William\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSD139.tmp\install.log’ for more information.

  3. Malcolm Gribble says:

    There’s always one…
After installing the program and while waiting for you to get the registration thingie to work – I lost the disk

We’ve made a small change to the next update that will fix this. It will be out very soon.

Does this message appear as a message in a separate dialog, or as a message beginning Error in the field towards the bottom of the form?

  6. Still can’t regisiter – still getting message “Unable to register over the internet. Try connecting first to the internet. Alternatively please try again later, or use the telephone service.”
As I am on broadband and am permanently connected to the Internet, this is clearly some form of error.
I have raised this before and been told to send query by email to visual.liturgy@c-of-e.org.uk ….. have done so, and to date had no reply.

  7. David Pritchard says:

When opening link to Day of Thanksgiving for Holy Communion I received an error report and the programme closed down. Can you tell me why and what I need to do
    With thanks.

  8. Robert Fish says:

Although I have successfully registered Visual Liturgy Live, it still comes up as unknown or unregistered when I open the program.

  9. Ven Simon Golding says:

Having registered for VL Live the form printed my password as my phone number and my status as “retired” as my name!!!
Can I correct them in anyway???

  10. Chris Green says:

I too, have problems registering. I follow the guidlines and get password insecure. I have been trying to register for 2 weeks and I am unable to do so.

If any staff of Vis Lit read this, please could they please email me regarding registering vis lit live and explain why I/we are having these probems.

I have tried passwords up to 20 letters upper and lower case + numbers
    and still get passwrod insecure.

    peace

  11. Chris Green says:

In reply to Devlopement question June 7th.
Okay I start vis lit live. The box pops up to register.
I fill in all the fields and then register now.

Then the error message pops in the box beside the number 8061

Error: The password that you have entered is not secure. Please use a password of between 6 and 12 characters and incorporate at least one uppercase letter and one number to ensure that your password cannot be easily guessed.

As I have said before I have entered upto 20 letters in upper & lower case + numbers and still get that error message!

    Peace
    ChRiS (G)

  12. Imogen Levy says:

    Chris

I am sorry you are having trouble registering.
As the message suggests please make sure your password is between 6 and 12 characters. 20 characters is too many and so will produce an error message.

If you continue to have problems please email a screen grab of your registration screen to visual.liturgy(at)c-of-e.org.uk.

    Many thanks
    Imogen Levy

  13. Any reply to my posting of 11th June – still no reply to the email I sent to vislit on 4th June !!

  14. I get the feeling I’m being ignored – I still can’t register – have been trying now for nearly 3 weeks with no success and no assistance. I have sent emails to vislit and have been totally ignored. What is the problem? Why can I not get any support for this issue?

  15. Roland Olliff says:

I am getting the error message that my code is incorrect and yet it is the one of the CD box, this has been happening for several week and despite emailing you and leaving telephone messages nothing seems to be sorted

  16. Alan Kennedy says:

I have registered and yet when I sign-on its says I am an unregistered copy and I am invited to register. When I type in my details it says there is already someone with these details. If I change my details, it tells me that my Licence code is invalid. Is this easy or what?

  17. Ann Clarke says:

Did all life stop on June 12th? I have still not been able to register and nothing more seems to have appeared on this site.

  18. development says:

To those with registration difficulties – I’ll alert CHP to your messages.

It may be because one of the relevant members of staff is away.

  19. Iain Lane says:

I have been trying without success to register on line for a month. I gather we are supposed to leave the key field blank, but when I do, I get a repeated error message reading Error: No Delivery Title Supplied, and can make no further progress. Any suggestions?

  20. Roland Olliff says:

I hate to say this but I only have 6 days left and I still cannot register, I will feel pretty cheated of I get to the six day point and I cannot access VL Live through no fault of my own and after several unanswered emails – please advice.

  21. Niall Johnston says:

I have registered online but the software is still showing as unregistered, is this a problem?

  22. development says:

If you get a message about n days remaining, then it is a problem. If not, it won’t be a problem until subscription-only content is released. If it is just the initial splash screen, don’t worry as this is a cosmetic problem, which you can probably fix by completing your organization name in the registration form.

I hate to say this but I only have 6 days left and I still cannot register

I have sent you an email, if you don’t get it email me at development(at)vislit.com.

Error: No Delivery Title Supplied, and can make no further progress. Any suggestions?

This message comes from the registration server which is not part of VL itself. It sounds as if you need to complete an additional field in the registration form – is the Title field empty? Failing that, you’ll need to call or email Church House Publishing for advice.

When opening link to Day of Thanksgiving for Holy Communion I received an error report and the programme closed down. Can you tell me why and what I need to do

Can you advise what error you get? Please click the More Details button if available.

Was this a service imported from the old Seasonal disk in VL3? If so, that could be the problem.

    Tim

  26. development says:

If anyone above is still having problems registering, please email me development(at)vislit.com.

    Tim

  27. Niall Johnston says:

Thanx for the advice. It is just that I am now asked to register every time I open the programme but am then told that the email address I give is already in use – is there a way to disable this?

  28. Roger Marks says:

I have just installed VL Live. I am the only user but as I filled in my church details it now thinks I have registered as a team which I have not. How do I change registration? Also where is RSCM Sunday by Sunday I cannot find it?

    Please assist.

  29. development says:

Sunday by Sunday is integrated into the hymn index. To use it, open a service for a specific sunday, then select a hymn. The index should show automatically.

  30. Revd Alec Boyd says:

I still cannot get the registration sorted. The screen still tells me that it is registered in someone else’s name. Can you help furthur?
    Thanks,
    Alec
